Photo shoot...

We had Tracy, our very talented niece (check out her website at www.tracylaynephotography.com) take Austin's 1-year-old photo. He didn't give us too many smiles, but we did get a few and he was a good sport...especially since he HATES sitting on grass! Why do plaid shirts make kids look so much older??
Austin's siblings...who adore him!

This boy LOVES balloons!

NINE...

Nine years ago I became a Grandma for the first time! I adore this girl...after having 3 sons, it was delightful to have a girl join the family! I've always called her "girl", I guess I just love the sound of it. I'm so proud of her-she does well in school and is taking piano lessons. As the first great-grandchild, the piano was handed down to her by her Great Grandpa and Grandma Muir.
Jensyn had 3 separate birthday celebrations. She shared a cake and ice cream party with her baby brother Austin on his first birthday, we took her to The Pizza Factory right on her birthday (May 2nd), and she had a "spa" party with a few friends on Saturday. Happy 9th birthday to this special girl...love you, Jensyn!

Sunday Drive...

May 1st, we decided to go for a Sunday drive after dinner and headed north on I-15. We ended up on Antelope Island! We saw a bunch of antelope and lots of birds, and noticed how different the view is being on the island instead of looking at it. You can even see the buildings in downtown Salt Lake. We were discussing how there are buffalo on the island, and Dale said he didn't think we'd see any...then we rounded a bend in the road and there was this monster!
I've never been this close to a buffalo, and glad we were able to get a photo with our phone. Further down the road we saw 3 of his friends. Glad it wasn't dark-these beasts would do major damage to a car...
If you're looking for a little adventure-go check out Antelope Island, you'll never know what you'll see!

OUR "EGG-CELENT" EASTER...

We had a wonderful Easter. Our Sacrament Meeting ended a little early, so we had the opportunity to hear President Eyring bear his testimony. What a great reminder of why we celebrate Easter and a perfect way to start the day. It was supposed to be rainy all day, but it turned out to be a mostly sunny (but cold) day.
EGG coloring...our Saturday before Easter tradition with the grandkids.

EGG hunting...the weather cooperated and we were able to have the hunt outside this year. We sure love spending time with our family. One of my favorite parts of Easter is seeing kids all dressed up in their Easter outfits.

EGG rolling...a tradition my parents started MANY years ago!
EGG eating! For some reason the kids ended up on the adult table, and we ended up on their table. The funniest part of the dinner was when nobody was talking and Jacob said, "Hey, everyone's chewing"!

Happy Birthday to a "ONE-derful" boy - April 28, 2011

Happy 1st birthday to Austin!
I love this little boy's long eyelashes and happy nature. He loves balloons, throwing balls, and chocolate milk!
Opening gifts - I think he knew this was his special day!
He knew just what to do with his cake...look, touch, smash, eat, smash and eat some more!
New shoes!
Grandpa & Grandma love this little guy!

Oh yeah, I'm happy-thumbs up to whoever gave me this balloon to play with!
Sticking his tongue out is his new favorite "trick"...
"I don't know about this standing by myself stuff..."

NO FOOLIN'...

No April Fools joke here...for the first time since the 2005-06 season, the Jazz didn't make the playoffs. They played their last game April 13th at home with a win against Denver. I'm hopeful after all the changes we had this year that next season will be better! Go Oklahoma City Thunder! That's who I'll be cheering for to win the NBA championship...
It's going to be interesting to see who's sitting on the bench next season...
Glad Hayward ended the season with a great game-hope there are more to come!
Going to miss watching the Jazz play and hope the team will get better and make it to the playoffs next season!

Jacob, wishing the snow would melt so he can lay on the lounge chair and soak up some sun!
Sage trying to catch a snowflake!
I sure hope these April "showers" bring May flowers very soon! On April 6th we got 6 inches of snow, by the 9th we had 15 inches, and on the 10th we measured 18 1/2 inches at our house. It was spring break for Davis County Schools April 4-8 and the weather was anything but spring-like! At least we had some pretty sunsets...
I get way too many catalogs/magazines. This is the stack on my nightstand...no kidding!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY

I like St. Patrick's day, not because I'm Irish, I just think it's a fun holiday and maybe because green is my favorite color! It also happens to be my father-in-law's birthday and I adore him!
I found this "subway" art on a blog and thought it was cute...I'm kind of obsessed with subway art right now!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LAUREN

Lauren is FINALLY legal! She turned 21 on April 14th. Brett appropriately took her to a bar to celebrate! (Okay, it was a piano bar...Keys On Main-a dueling piano bar.) They made her go on stage and do a little dance! For her reward, she enjoyed her favorite drink of choice...Diet Coke!

Our freezer had a "melt-down" so her ice cream cake was a little lopsided!
Celebrating with two of her favorites guys-Brett & Tank!
Love you, Lauren!

TuBiNg at Soldier Hollow

After receiving some "reminders" from the grandkids that we hadn't been tubing yet, we got out the snow gear on March 12th and headed up to Soldier Hollow (near Midway). The runs were a little "slow" because of the warm weather, but we had a fun time. Before we headed home, we stopped at The Dairy Keen in Heber for lunch-yum!
