My heart goes out to those people in Japan and I pray they will be comforted...

March "Madness"...
Earthquakes have always frightened me...I remember in elementary school having earthquake drills where we would practice getting under our desks, just in case...I only remember experiencing a few minor earthquakes in my life and that's enough for me. On March 11th, an 8.9 magnitude offshore quake unleashed a 23-foot tsunami and was followed by more than 50 aftershocks for hours in Japan. Dozens of cities and villages along a 1300 mile stretch of coastline were shaken by violent tremors that reached as far away as Tokyo, hundreds of miles from the epicenter. Thousands of people were killed, and many more are injured or missing. The tsunami also hit Hawaii. South America, Canada, Alaska and the entire U.S. West Coast were also put on alert. In Japan, the area around a nuclear power plant in the northeast was evacuated after the reactor's cooling system failed.
