PLAYING "CATCH-UP"...

Now that it's officially a new year, it's time for me to do some blog "catch-up"!
Here's what we did during the month of November...

We spent Thanksgiving in St. George this year with the Muir family. The weather was unusually cold, but we had a great time anyway. We had our family photo taken, went to see the movie "Tangled", did some shopping, played ultimate frisbee, had fun being with extended family, played basketball, and ate A LOT...

Happy New Year!

After a very eventful and fun 2010 (a trip to the Mediterranean, birth of a new grandson, baptism of our first grandchild, and Brett & Lauren's wedding), I'm looking forward to what the year 2011 will bring! January is NOT my favorite month of the year, so I decided to try to find something wonderful everyday in January and take a photo to document those "things". I'll be sharing some of my favorites on the blog...

It was our turn to host the Muir Family Christmas party this year. We held it on Saturday, Dec. 18th in the afternoon. Even some of our "St. George" family came! It sure was fun to get together and celebrate this special time of year...
THERE WAS: FOOD (of course)!
FUN GAMES!
(Brett, Chris, Mo & Rich were our "reindeer")
O' Christmas Tree...Darren, Andy, Paul & Jon in case you couldn't tell!
FAMILY TIME!
KID CRAFTS!
AND...
SERVICE PROJECTS!

WEDDING PHOTOS!

Brett & Lauren recently got their wedding photos from their photographer. Here are just a few of my favorites...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CHRIS

Chris turned 32 on December 10th. Wow, am I really old enough to have a kid THAT old??
We celebrated his birthday on Sunday, with dinner and 31 Flavors Ice cream cake. Jensyn had fun "decorating" her dad with bows and wrapping paper! He was excited to get something "electronic" for his gift...a new Apple TV!

What a good sport!

Christmas Cookies...and fun with FLOUR!

December 23rd was our annual Grandma/Grandkid Christmas Cookie Activity! Jacob reminded me we needed to do this about 2 months ago when he saw my rolling pin in the cupboard and he said "Member when we made cookies? Let's do that again!" This year his favorite part wasn't the rolling, or the cutting, or the baking, or the decorating....it was playing in the FLOUR!

FLOUR, anyone??
Ashley & Jensyn and their colorful nails...cutting angels & stars, trees & bells!
"Grandma, you need some flour on your arm!"

The finished product...I sure love sugar cookies and love these kids!!

SUNSET...

This photo was taken on October 29th. We opened our garage door to see this beautiful sight! We ran in and grabbed the camera and took a quick shot before this amazing sunset was gone...
Just had to share!

H-A-L-L-O-W-E-E-N

October 30th we were visited by some little spooks! The Bride of Dracula, a friendly witch, SpongeBob SquarePants, a Tootsie Roll and a black lab puppy named Tank. We had chili and apple cider and went trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. A storm was brewing, so our visitors left quickly to go to another party and do more trick-or-treating.
The rainy, cold weather didn't seem to scare the trick-or-treaters away-we still gave away 90 full-size candy bars!

SCaRy Hill...

During the month of October, Cherry Hill was transformed into "Scary Hill". Since the grandkids were out of school the Friday before Halloween, we spent a few hours mini-golfing, going for a tractor ride and playing in the balls. Jensyn & Ashley also made it to the top of the climbing wall, while Jacob played Aeroball. We had a "spook-tac-ular" time!!
