SMILES!

Austin always has a smile...it amazes me that babies will usually smile at anyone. The world would be a better place if we all smiled a little more!

DANG WOLF!!

Sad to report our favorite feathered friends, Duckworth & Diva were taken from our yard by a "predator"...
Duckworth on July 10th and Diva on July 13th.
Was it a wolf? A coyote? A fox? A weasel? Whatever it was, it was quiet & sneaky.
We didn't hear a thing. The only evidence was feathers on the lawn...
Every time we talk about the ducks Jacob says "Dang wolf!"
We will miss them...

Duck Update!

Duckworth and Diva are such fun pets! They love to have races with Darren on the lawn, nibble on Jensyn's earrings, and swim in their "kiddie pool". They don't ever try to leave the yard, and they sleep under the ping-pong table. They will even hop on your lap like a puppy and cuddle! We still don't know if they're male or female, I guess only time will tell...

Jensyn's Baptism

Our oldest grandchild, Jensyn was baptized and confirmed on Saturday, June 5, 2010. She was the only girl being baptized that day along with 5 boys in their Stake...
This day was very special and beautiful, just like this precious girl!

Endowed!

June 15, 2010 Lauren received her endowment in the Bountiful Temple. (The word endowment means "gift," and the temple endowment truly is a gift from God (lds.org). After attending the temple, we had her family over for dinner and watched the sunset from our deck. What a beautiful night and what a blessing (and gift) it will be to have Lauren in our family...

Happy 3rd Birthday Jacob!

Jacob turned 3 on June 19th. I just love this little guy! He has gorgeous blue eyes and is so much fun. His favorite movie right now is The Polar Express (Choo-Choo Train Movie), he loves M & M's (Nem-E-Nems), and asks me every time I see him "You have bubble gum?" For awhile he called me "You", but now I'm Grandma Linda!

His unique way of holding up 3 fingers!
He had fun singing Happy Birthday to himself!

He (and his ice cream cone) had a melt-down at the DQ!!

QUACK...we have pet ducks!

It all started one day in June when I found a baby duck in our backyard, scared and chirping, huddled in a corner on the deck. I captured him (with a butterfly net) and put him in a box. There were red-tailed hawks flying over the gully and I thought maybe they were going to swoop down and get this little duck. Well, he lived in our house in a box for a few days, until one day we decided to let him run around on the lawn for awhile. He went a little too far off the grass and into the "jungle" between us and our neighbor. Darren looked for him for several hours, but never found him. Hopefully he found his mother and siblings!
Fast forward to June 12th when Darren returned home from work with a small box in hand. On the box it said "Handle with loving care-live animal"! "Oh Darren, what do you have there?", I asked...
He said he made a little stop on his way home at IFA (Intermountain Farmers) and made a purchase! Inside the box were 2 ducklings, 1 brown and 1 yellow, about 2 days old. I couldn't resist, so I said we could keep them as pets (after all we have a big grassy backyard where they could hang out and eat bugs)! We named them Diva and Duckworth, and have no idea if they're male or female! They are living in big box in our storage room for now...
WORD OF WARNING...baby ducks are adorable, but poop ALOT!!

BROTHERS

Take my hand, little brother, walk with me. I'll show you all the things a little boy should see. Digging in dirt, climbing trees, splashing in puddles, chasing bees. Tasting dirt, making a mess, scraping knees and elbows, no less. Come with me, little brother, take my hand.
